Happy 4th of July!  This year marks the 240th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence; a day that is celebrated with parades, fireworks, picnics and patriotic concerts.  If you are looking for something to do this year; you are lucky your West Hills apartment is right in the thick of the 4th of July Celebrations.

Parades & Other Activities

Each year the Westlake Village Parade is nearby and starts at 9:45 at 4415 Lakeview Canyon Road and finishes at Berniece Bennett Park.  This classic hometown favorite includes local bands and floats, as well as veterans, youth groups and bikes decked out for the patriotic celebration.  Leashed dogs are welcome.

Thousand Oaks offers a fun way to spend the 4th of July.  This fun, community oriented day is packed filled with events to celebrate the country’s independence.  A bike parade begins at Otters Pool (preceded by a Zombie vs. Human battle).  There is a concert in the Park at Conjego Community Park that features the Conejo Pops Orchestra.  The concert is free and is from 5:00 pm to 7 pm.

The night ends with a fireworks spectacular.  Janss Marketplace will host a free viewing of the fireworks with live activities and a live DJ.  The fun starts at 5 pm.
