It’s almost New Year’s Eve and you still have no plans. No worries, it is likely that your neighbors, friends, and co-workers don’t have plans either so why not throw an impromptu New Year’s Eve party.

Plan the party for later in the night and let your guests know that you will be serving snacks only.  (This will save you on preparation time and money).

Stock up on champagne and champagne flutes.  You can find inexpensive champagne glasses at a dollar store, home discount store, or from a party supply store.

Self-serve finger food is an easy and fun way to serve up snacks on New Year’s Eve.  Put them on mirrored or metallic trays and supply small plates or napkins.

Rearrange furniture so that everyone has a spot to sit, that might mean moving furniture temporarily into another room, but make sure that the room in your West Hills apartment that you will host your party has “flow”.  No one wants to have to get up to let another guest go by.

Plan an activities like playing games, karaoke, watch the New Year’s Eve events on TV/Internet, or create a kick butt play list and keep your guests singing all night.

Make sure you are ready for midnight by chilling the champagne and having the glasses and any hats or horns easily accessible for the stroke of midnight.
